Tracking our trucks has never been easier and more efficient both for our Dispatch and our Customers. OEX uses QUALCOMM which allows our dispatch to send information and specific instructions to our drivers on a load-by-load basis. Ohio Eastern Express uses up to the minute tracking data to know where our drivers are and we can monitor their location, movement, reefer temperature and even vehicle maintenance issues. This helps us ensure our trucks are operating efficiently and if a truck gets changed or rerouted, OEX can dispatch changes immediately.
OEX also uses OMNITRACS mobile communication and fleet management system. This program works with our dispatch software to allow up to the minute reports on our driver’s location and load status. OMNITRACS helps our drivers avoid traffic jams and detours during weather conditions. Keeping our drivers, equipment and loads safe and sound is our main goal with this system. It allows better communication with our customers, and in some cases, we provide login and password information so our customers can monitor our drivers making their frequent deliveries. This reduces call volume to our Dispatch team, because customers can get their answers more quickly on their own.
If we can’t drive it, we can broker it for you. Our in-house broker counts on a network of carriers who provide a wide availability of drivers to call when we cannot cover all the loads that our customers count on
